# Mono Bridge

**INTRODUCTION**

The emergence of decentralized computing platforms and application environments powered by blockchain technology has made it possible to develop and deploy decentralized applications (Dapps). Dapps represented by Decentralized Finance applications (or DeFi) in turn have brought about demand for the interaction between digital assets issued on different chains. To meet that demand, decentralized cross-chain bridges, routers and other infrastructure have come into being. These infrastructures together form a multi-chain application environment, which spawns new ways in which Defi applications are deployed and run, e.g. multi-chain deployment and multi-chain issuance of digital assets. Just as computer technology and applications have historically promoted the development of each other, we believe that the development of multi-chain application environment will drive the further evolution of Dapps in terms of how they can be deployed and run, and that the expansion of Dapps' application fields and market size will pose new requirements on the multi-chain application environment. New ways in which Dapps are deployed and run have begun to emerge. The multi-chain application environment characterized solely by compatibility with the EVM obviously won't be the ultimate form of evolution. The top priority in the development of multi-chain application environment will be building more comprehensive interaction capabilities between a larger number of technological systems and chains, thereby prompting new Dapps to improve their application capabilities and expand their application fields. This in turn will place new requirements on cross-chain interaction protocols and cross-chain infrastructure. In the future, cross-chain protocols will not just be about enabling the cross-chain interaction of digital assets, but will extend to the comprehensive interaction of generic messages between multiple chains. As such, developing the next-generation cross-chain interaction protocols and products becomes the key to promoting the in-depth development of Dapps and multi-chain application environments. A fully interactive multi-chain application environment based on generic cross-chain messaging WHITEPAPER protocol will be able to provide multi-chain decentralized computing capabilities for the upper-layer cross-chain Dapps in a near transparent manner. Leveraging the advantages of the multi-chain application environment, new Dapps will provide optimal solutions of business logic, thus further expanding its market presence.
